A rare sea creature is spotted for the first time in the Pacific Ocean.

A unusual eight-foot-long sea critter known as the Solumbellula Sea Pen was sighted in a video provided by Nautilus Live. It was sighted for the first time in the Pacific Ocean. The strange creature was discovered swaying 3,000 metres below the surface.

While the sea pen appears to be a little spooky, it is hailed a big victory. In the video, one of the researchers says, “My mind is blown right now.”

Other scientists can be heard exclaiming in wonder as they see its 40-centimetre-long tentacles emerge from its two-metre-long stalk. While it is difficult to establish age based on size, scientists believe the sea pen is rather old.The creature simply looks like a flower floating in the water.
