Recently, Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard recalled the time he unintentionally figured out the premise of the Duffer Brothers’ upcoming spinoff.
Finn, who plays Mike Wheeler in the Netflix horror-sci-fi series, admitted on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that he almost gave away the spinoff’s plot.
Wolfhard joked to Jimmy Fallon that the cast of Stranger Things 4 discussed the possibility of a fifth season, saying things like, “Oh, they’re all going to have us back in 20 years, and we’re all going to [be] fat and old.”
Despite the Duffer Brothers’ best efforts, Finn correctly predicted the show’s premise. “And then they yanked me away… and said, ‘That’s the concept. To which I replied, “No one.” when asked “Who told you?” “His words.
Finn elaborated, “Then they asked, “What do you mean?” You thought of that on your own? and I responded, “Well, actually, I just thought that would be an interesting way to grow.” And they were all, “Okay, well… don’t tell anyone; it’s funny, but don’t tell anyone.””
The Duffer Brothers made it clear in June 2022 that the upcoming spinoff would feature an original story.
In the meantime, a six-hour long anime spinoff will be added to the Stranger Things Cinematic Universe.
