AR Rahman pitches his vote for Oscars 2023 nominations
Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman has just cast his ballot for the Oscar nominations and has shared a screenshot of his ballot with his admirers online.
While updating his Instagram followers on the status of his ballot, Rahman included a screenshot of an email he had received from the Academy. He accompanied the photograph with a V for victory symbol.
“Thank you. Vote counts as received. It also included the need for secrecy regarding voting. It’s crucial to keeping things honest and open. (This may include, but is not limited to, expressing one’s views to the media and/or publishing one’s views on websites such as blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and others.) Much obliged.
After he posted it, the Academy’s official Instagram account responded with a few yellow heart emoji.
Grammy winner AR Rahman is campaigning for Oscar nominations in 2023.
Fans, however, were left wondering how he voted. Some believe he voted for SS Rajamouli’s RRR, while others believe he voted for Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: I, to which he contributed music.
The composer of “Agar Tum Saath Ho” is no stranger to Oscar glory; he won Best Original Song and Best Original Score for “Slumdog Millionaire” in 2009, so he’s no stranger to the Academy Awards either.
