Following Seohyun’s illness, ‘Girl Generation’ postpones their scheduled activities.

Because Seohyun tested positive for COVID-19, Girls’ Generation cancelled their booked events for the week. Soompi reported on August 9 that Girls Generation reps verified Seohyun’s diagnosis with COVID-19 and that the group had temporarily ceased all of her activities.

The trio was forced to cancel their scheduled performances on Mnet’s M Countdown on August 11 and SBS’s Inkigayo on August 14. These would have been the band’s first music show appearances in five years. Meanwhile, on Instagram, Seohyun personally apologised to her followers and bandmates.

“I am sorry,” she wrote. I was healthy, so I didn’t think I got COVID-19, but I did end up getting it. I am truly sorry and disappointed; I will recover quickly, so let’s meet in good health on the day of next week’s music concert!”
