Jisoo from Blackpink sets a new record for the most sales in the first week.
Jisoo of the K-pop group Blackpink broke the record for the most sales in the first week by a female K-pop artist. On March 31, she released her first record by herself as well as a music video for the title track.
According to Hanteo Chart, the record sold an incredible 876,249 copies on its first day alone. Lisa, one of Jisoo’s bandmates, used to hold the record with her hit solo song “LaLisa,” which sold about 330,129 copies on the day it came out in 2021.
Even among groups, she has the second-highest first-week sales among women. Only her own group Blackpink, with their new album Born Pink, has sold more in its first week.
