Malala has stated that if she is compelled to remove her scarf, she will protest.

The death of a 22-year-old Iranian woman, Mahsa Amini, in the custody of morality police sparked nationwide unrest and protests in Iran, in what can be described as some of the country’s greatest turmoils since street riots over water shortages last year.

Amini died last week after being jailed in Tehran for “improper attire.” While in detention, she went into a coma. Authorities have stated that they will investigate the reason of her death.Malala Yousafzai, a Nobel Peace Prize winner and fighter for girls’ education rights, has voiced support with Amini.

Malala condemned Amini’s death and the motivation behind it, emphasising a woman’s freedom to choose.”Whatever a woman chooses to wear, she has the right to do so. As I already stated, if someone compels me to cover my head, I will object. I will object if someone pushes me to remove my scarf “Malala posted an Instagram story with Amini’s photo cropped out.

Malala said she will protest if she is forced to remove her scarf.The education activist then demanded justice for Amini.The tragedy that took Amini’s life elicited angry and disapproving reactions from celebrities all across the world. Among them were supermodel Bella Hadid and American artist Halsey.
