PDM to hold anti-govt protest march as planned on Pakistan Day
| Fazl says TI report has exposed govt’s corruption
ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has announced to hold the anti-inflation March on March 23 this year.
The PDM head Maulana Fazlur Rehman, while addressing the media after a meeting of the opposition alliance said that the PDM workers will enter Islamabad on the already fixed date, saying that people from all walks of life will participate in the march.
Maulana Fazl Rehman stated that the date of anti-inflation march was fixed with a joint consensus of the PDM member parties.
He claimed that this anti-inflation march will be a historic one and will be the last nail in the coffin for this government.
Talking about mini-budget, Maulana said that the poor people of Pakistan were pushed into extreme poverty after passing the mini budget, saying that the opposition parties rejected the budget of the failed government.
He said that the incumbent failed government has failed to deliver and the economy has already drowned, saying that the opposition would never compromise on the freedom and sovereignty of the country.
Lashing out at the government, he said that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has been enslaved by international financial institutions. Commenting on the Transparency International’s latest Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI 2021) report, the PDM chief said that the government came into power with the slogan of transparency has been listed one of the few top corrupt governments in the world.
It must be noted that the Transparency International has ranked Pakistan 140th corrupt country in the world out of 180 countries.
Maulana said that the Transparency International has exposed the true face of the incumbent government.
About the Presidential system, he said that Presidential form of government is the second form of dictatorship, saying that Presidential form of government will never be accepted in the country.
Referring to the report released by the scrutiny committee of ECP, he said that the ruling party had hidden 22 bank accounts which was enough for the disqualification of Imran Khan.
Commenting on the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM), Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that “EVM is another name of Results Transmission System (RTS).”
