President Putin last night officially announced operation in Donbas regions in eastern parts of Ukraine.
US President termed the Russian attack “unprovoked and unjustified”. US President said world will “hold Russia accountable”.

UN Security Council has held emergency meeting. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged the Russian President to stop attack on Ukraine.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Putin had not replied to his invitation to hold talks.

Russia said that Ukraine separatists in Donbas region have asked Moscow for “help” against Kyiv.

Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived on a pre-scheduled three day visit to Moscow last night and is scheduled to meet Russian President Putin. Both leaders will discuss bilateral relations, cooperation on energy including gas pipeline project.
