Students at Aligarh College charged with chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’
According to India Today, police in Uttar Pradesh have charged several students with chanting slogans in support of Pakistan during a Tiranga yatra, a rally that carries the Indian flag.
Some students allegedly shouted pro-Pakistan slogans during an Aligarh college rally on August 13. People complained to the college administration about them.
When the college failed to address the issue, the complainants approached the police and showed them videos. The police filed charges against the students and also charged the college’s principal and manager.
According to Rajan Kumar, a college student, they heard “Pakistan zindabad” slogans. Teachers were notified right away. “I’m not sure if the slogans were raised by our students or by outsiders,” he said.According to the college’s principal, they investigated the matter but found no video evidence that would allow them to take action.
