The ICC World Cup match between Pakistan and India will take place at Narendra Modi Stadium

The much-anticipated ICC 50-over World Cup match between India and Pakistan will take place in October or November at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

This will be the first time since 2016 that the two biggest rivals meet on Indian land. The stadium has a capacity of 100,000 seats, making it the biggest in India. It was chosen because a lot of people from other countries are expected to come to the match.

When the Indian Premier League (IPL) is over, the BCCI will hold a big event to announce the World Cup schedule. The event will start on October 5, and matches have been scheduled for Nagpur, Bengaluru, Trivandrum, Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Rajkot, Indore, Bengaluru, and Dharamshala.

But only seven places will host India’s league games. If India makes it to the final, the only place where they could play two games is in Ahmedabad. Pakistan and Bangladesh, on the other hand, could play most of their games in Chennai, Bengaluru, Guwahati, or Kolkata.

The BCCI talked to the management of the Indian team to find out what they wanted for the games other than the one with Pakistan. The team has asked the BCCI to schedule matches against Australia, England, New Zealand, and South Africa at venues that help spinners, since they prefer slow pitches to make the most of their home edge.

The state groups have already given the BCCI their wish list, but the BCCI is the only one who will decide where the games will be played. There is a good chance that India’s match against Australia will be played at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. The games against New Zealand, England, and South Africa, on the other hand, will be held in other places with slow pitches.

Before the World Cup, the BCCI has set aside more than Rs500 crore to fix up venues all over the country. After recent criticism about the state of stadiums, the BCCI’s top goal is to improve the infrastructure that is already there, such as clean toilets, easy access, and clean seats.
