The maker of “The Kashmir Files” thinks “Bollywood is in bad shape.”

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, an Indian filmmaker who has talked a lot about how bad the film business is getting, says something else shocking about Bollywood.

The director of The Kashmir Files shared a post on his Twitter account saying that Bollywood is in bad shape and that most of the money is being spent on maintaining the stars’ good lifestyles and vanity.

In a recent story, it was said that Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan was the only movie that did well at the box office at the start of 2023. Even though Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar by Luv Ranjan also made 120 crore, it can’t be counted as a hit because it cost so much to make.

“Bollywood is in bad shape,” Vivek wrote in response to this story. Again. It seems like the whole business is happy to pay stars ridiculously high fees when they can’t even promise an opening. Most money is spent on stars’ egos and the way they live. What’s going wrong?”

Selfiee, Shehzada, Bholaa, and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar were just some of the movies that came out in the first quarter of 2023. But Indiatoday says that only Pathaan did well.
