On Monday, the organising committee for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games unveiled “Games Wide Open” as the tagline for the forthcoming sports event, which will be held in Paris.

The video unveiling of the tagline was accompanied by imagery of French monuments, history, and culture juxtaposed with the many Olympic sports, expressing the concept of disability inclusion, LGBTQI, gender equality, accessibility, and pride.

The opening ceremony will take place in the open on the Seine River in Paris. Boats will ferry the 10,500 competitors past the locations where some of the activities will take place.According to the French daily Le Monde, organisers claim it will be the largest opening ceremony ever, with around 600,000 fans anticipated to attend.

Nearly 13 million tickets will be available for the sports activities, which will take place from July 26 to September 8, 2024. Tickets will cost between €24 to €950. Tickets will be distributed through a lottery system.

The introduction of the tagline and ticket sales comes two years before the Olympics begin. President Emmanuel Macron also met with the organising committee to monitor the budget and security preparations. In light of the UEFA Championship final catastrophe in Paris, Macron wants to ensure orderly crowd management for the Olympic activities.

In addition to the army and local police, 17,500 security officers will be trained to defend the competition site on each day of the tournament.
