The US defence secretary and COAS talk about issues of shared interest.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Friday that US Secretary of Defense General (retd) Lloyd James Austin spoke by phone with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

The US defence secretary expressed sorrow over the tragic floods in Pakistan, according to the ISPR, and General Bajwa and Lloyd discussed subjects of mutual interest, regional stability, and defence and security cooperation during the call. Austin also expressed sympathy to the families of flood victims and pledged his unwavering support for the Pakistani people.

Austin expressed his thanks for the Pakistan Army’s rescue and relief efforts in flood-affected areas, according to the statement, and he promised to do his part to improve collaboration with the country at all levels.
