Today, the IHC will file charges against Imran Khan in a contempt case.

Today (Thursday), the Islamabad High Court (IHC) is due to formally indict PTI Chairman Imran Khan in a contempt of court case for his inflammatory remarks about Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry during a rally in Islamabad on August 20.

After taking up contempt of court proceedings against Khan for threatening an additional sessions judge during the rally, a larger bench of the IHC issued a show-cause notice to him on August 23.

On August 20, the PTI chair held a protest in the federal capital to express sympathy with his chief of staff, Shahbaz Gill, following allegations of mistreatment in detention. He threatened Islamabad’s inspector-general and deputy inspector-general that he would “not spare” them, pledging to pursue charges against them.

vowing to bring charges against them for allegedly torturing Gill.

Turning his sights on the extra sessions judge, who had placed Gill in physical remand at the request of the police, Imran Khan stated she [the judge] should brace herself for consequences.
