Two days International Conference on Cyber Warfare and Security concludes
Two days International Conference on Cyber Warfare and Security concluded today at Islamabad. Mr Shafqat Mahmood, Federal Minister for Education was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony.
The Minister was received by Air Marshal Nauman Ali, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force along with Air Marshal (Retd) Javaid Ahmed, Vice Chancellor Air University and Air Vice Marshal Abbas Ghumman, Director General C4I PAF as he arrived at the venue. The event was also attended by civil-military dignitaries and leading Academia, Think Tank and Cyber Industry representatives.
Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood, while addressing the ceremony, underlined the need for building strong cyber security capabilities as the country is under constant Cyber attacks. The Minister lauded PAF along with Air University for the successful conduct of International Conference on Cyber Warfare and holding of Cyber Security Industry Exhibition. Presence of leading players of Cyber Industry in the exhibition would help bring cutting edge technologies to the country. Shafqat Mahmood praised PAF for providing patronage to Air University in establishing Cyber Security Academy and strengthening academia to meet technological challenges.
PAF under the vision of Chief of the Air Staff has taken a number of initiatives in the Cyber domain while contributing to National Cyber Security objectives. Through strong industry-academia linkages, PAF is involved in the development of high-quality HR pool capable of undertaking advanced research in the Cyber domain. Qualified HR would contribute to R&D efforts at Cyber Technology Park and Cyber Center of Excellence planned under National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP). Evolving itself as an effective, ubiquitous and highly responsive Cyber Force, PAF has upgraded its Cyber infrastructure to effectively counter potential threats. PAF is also establishing a dedicated Cyber Command as a potent force element to achieve its Cyber Warfare and Security objectives.
On the occasion, Vice Chief of the Air Staff briefed the Chief Guest regarding various initiatives being pursued by PAF in collaboration with local and foreign technology experts.
