What would James Anderson have to pay for Babar Azam?
England bowler James Anderson recently said that he was upset that Pakistan’s national team captain and batting ace Babar Azam didn’t get picked up in the recent The Hundred Draft.
Anderson told the BBC’s Tailenders Podcast that he would have spent “his entire budget” to get Babar to join his side.
“I’ll pay twice as much for him. Anderson said, “I’ll spend all the money on Babar Azam.”
Pakistan’s captain Azam and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan were not sold because there were not enough of them.
“The only thing I can think of is that he wasn’t chosen because he wasn’t available,” the right-handed pitcher said.
In a poll taken by fans before The Hundred draft, Azam was chosen the most. After getting 25% of the votes, the good batter was at the top of the charts.
Also, none of the women who play cricket for Pakistan were picked in the draft.
But the Welsh Fire picked up Pakistani pacers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf in the draft.
Pacer Ihsanullah, on the other hand, was chosen by Oval Invincibles. He was the best player in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which just ended. He took 22 wickets at an Economy of 7.59, which made him the player of the event.
The game will start on August 1, and the last set will be played at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on August 27.
Last year, the men’s tournament was won by Trent Rockets, who beat Manchester Originals in the final match.
The women’s game was won by the Oval Invincibles, who beat the Southern Brave in a rematch of the 2021 final. This is the second time in a row that the Oval Invincibles have won.
