WhatsApp to let users ‘keep’ deleted messages

WaBetaInfo said that WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta and used by thousands of people, is adding a new feature that will let users keep messages from missing.

According to a website that keeps track of apps, some beta testers can use the new “keep message” tool.

Users will be able to keep certain messages from going away with this tool. This would be helpful if someone sent a message that was important and didn’t want to lose it.

Before, many users couldn’t keep texts from going away because there was no “keep” action. But some beta testers can now use this function with the latest update for iOS 23.7.0.72.

WaBetaInfo users can now stop a message from going away, and others can do the same to your messages. “If someone wants a message that is supposed to disappear to go away again, they need to choose the “unkeep” action,” said WaBetaInfo.

“Since people still have control over when their messages disappear, it won’t be possible to keep a message from going away if it has already been ignored,” it said.

This feature gives users a sense of control over their communication by letting them access and read the message in the kept messages area.
