After putting out her new single “Bandaid,” Paris Jackson hints that she might be making an album.

With her new single, “Bandaid,” Paris Jackson is back to making music.

In an interview with People Magazine on February 24, 2023, the daughter of the late Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe said that her new singles, just you and lighthouse, have a “harder” sound than the ones she has already put out.

“I used the same [sound] mixer, so there is definitely a cohesiveness with the first two singles, but this one is a bit more influenced by bands like the Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Interpol,” she shared.

“It’s a bit noisier and more fun. But in terms of the songwriting aspect, it’s still the same acoustic folk approach that I always take when I’m writing.”

The 24-year-old singer said that there’s “no specific time” for writing songs because she writes when the mood strikes her.

She said, “Sometimes it’s in the middle of the day, and other times it’s late at night.” “My process is just, I come up with a progression that is decent, that isn’t too similar to other ones that I’ve used, and then I hum until I find a good melody. Then the lyrics kind of fall into place.”

Jackson also hinted that she is planning on making a full album in the near future.

She said, “That’s the goal.” “I have enough ready-to-go songs that are already recorded to make an album. When it comes to how many songs I’ve written, I don’t even know. Dozens, maybe.”

After she broke up with her ex-Soundflowers bandmate Gabriel Glenn in 2020, the singer began making music on her own for the first time. She got her first record deal and put out her first album, “wilted,” which was about heartbreak and pain, the same year.

Three years after the album came out, the musician released a surprise EP called “the lost” in early 2022. She went from playing “quiet, acoustic shows” to touring with bigger bands and playing for bigger crowds.
