In the midst of an extortion case, Jacqueline Fernandez receives support from R. Madhavan.

Although Jacqueline Fernandez’s name appeared on the chargesheet in the extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, the actress received backing from Tanu Weds Manu actor R. Madhavan.

During a promotional event for his film Dhoka-Round D Corner in Mumbai, Madhavan expressed his support for the Kick actress, saying: “I hope she gets out of this mess soon. I don’t believe this is harming the country’s image.”

Madhavan was quoted further by India Today: “In fact, there have been fewer tax raids in our film industry. Everyone is working completely honestly. I don’t believe it will have an impact on the industry. This industry has higher taxpayers.”

On August 17, the Enforcement Directorate charged Fernandez with being involved in an INR 125 crore extortion case involving Chandrasekhar.

According to sources, the actress was aware that Chandrasekhar was an extortionist and benefited from the extorted funds.
