POL product prices may increase by Rs28.44.

The Finance Division will issue a summary requesting an increase in fuel prices of up to 11% commencing August 1. The prime minister will make the final decision in this situation, as is normal. The day before, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved a greater margin for gasoline merchants. The Petroleum Division warned dealers that the margin will be imposed by the government from August 1, 2022. Petrol prices would climb from Rs230.24 to Rs236.77 per litre, HSD prices from Rs236.00 to Rs264.44 per litre, SKO prices from Rs196.45 to Rs207.47 per litre, and LDO prices would rise from Rs196.45 to Rs207.47 per litre.
