Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was the “mastermind” of the events that took place on May 9, the day that anarchy engulfed Pakistan, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Khan, who was removed from office by a no-trust motion in April of last year, was detained in a corruption case, sparking violent rallies during which members of his party looted government and military buildings.
