Rupee Continues to Fall Against the Dollar

The Pakistani rupee lost 89 paisas versus the US dollar on Monday in interbank trading, ending the day at Rs219.86 as opposed to Rs218.97 the day before. The purchasing and selling prices of dollars in the open market were reported at Rs 221 and Rs 223, respectively, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP).

Compared to the previous day’s closing price of Rs218.81, the price of one Euro dropped by 95 paisas to settle at Rs217.86. The British pound’s exchange rate decreased by Rs1, trading at Rs252.23 as opposed to its previous closing of Rs253.23, while the Japanese Yen stayed constant to conclude at Rs1.56.Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal exchange rates each rose by 23 paisa to settle at Rs. 59.83 and Rs. 58.49, respectively.
