Salman Khan’s birthday: Fans face ‘lathicharge’ by police outside his home

On the occasion of Salman Khan’s 57th birthday, a large number of his fans gathered outside his Mumbai residence in an attempt to meet him, but the event devolved into a lathicharge.

Salman and his father, Salim Khan, made an appearance on the balcony of their flat to wave and thank their supporters. Khan dressed casually to greet his adoring public. He threw on a grey T-shirt, in contrast to the blue checkered shirt his dad was sporting.

Police tried to use force to contain the crowd after they got his glance, but the crowd quickly grew out of control.

Officers used their sticks to try to drive them back. It didn’t take long for the friendly get-together to devolve into a bloody battleground. Everyone was in a hurry and dropping their shoes and other possessions as they ran back and forth.

In response to the police’s action, Khan’s supporters expressed strong displeasure. One of his followers took to Twitter to proclaim, “unke fan jitne h sab dil se bahut mante h Bhaijaan ko.”

While another user wrote, “They were going crazy and it was definitely an uproar and to control them police had to do laathi charge.” As another user put it, “Har baar ka he theatres me bhi yehi sab hota tha jab jab Salman ki movie release hoti thi. Salmanians are a crazy, devoted fan base.

According to HindustanTimes, Salman Khan celebrated his birthday with a huge party attended by a who’s who of Bollywood stars. Among those in attendance were Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Pooja Hedge, Suniel Shetty, Tabu, Kartik Aaryan, Sonakshi Sinha, and many more.
