Shamshera, starring Ranbir Kapoor, was labelled a “flop.”
According to a report by India Today, Shamshera, the eagerly awaited film starring Ranbir Kapoor, failed to surpass the INR 50 crore threshold in 12 days. The star-studded movie, which came out on July 22, 2022, starred Ranbir in a dual role and garnered negative reviews.
Its box office performance was also criticised; it only managed to bring in INR 0.7 crore on Day 12, bringing its total to INR 48.5 crores. Shamshera has performed well at the box office thus far, and it appears that its overall box office earnings will be in the range of INR 75 crores.
The movie, which had a budget of about INR 150 crores, was a complete failure at the box office and failed to recoup even a third of that amount in the first 12 days of release. Ek Villain Returns, starring John Abraham, provided stiff competition for Shamshera, making it the eighth dud in Ranbir Kapoor’s career. Now that Brahmastra is about to be released, Ranbir will be getting ready for it and hoping that it won’t suffer the same fate as Shamshera.
