Tauqeer Nasir, a famous actor, was named head of the Punjab Censor Board.

Thursday, it was announced that Tauqeer Nasir, a well-known playwright in Pakistan, has been put in charge of the Punjab Film Censor Board.

The experienced actor, who has been in many dramas, began his work in 1978 with Pakistan Television (PTV).

On August 14, 2022, President Dr. Arif Alvi gave him the Sitara-e-Imtiaz.

Nasir has worked as the head of the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) branch in Islamabad and as a member of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).

Nasir told Jang that he would try to fix the problems in the film business after he got the job. “I know all about the problems in the movie business because I’ve stayed in it,” he said.

The actor has been in the business for more than 40 years.

Before this, star Vasay Chaudhry was put in charge of the Punjab Film Censor Board as its vice-chairman. But a little over two months later, when Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi told the review board, his time in office was over.

“After the recent de-notification of the Punjab film censor board, my time as Vice Chairman ends with seeing 8 films, drinking 4 cups of coffee, eating 1 popcorn, 1 pack of chips, and 3 water bottles, passing 7 films with cuts, and banning 1 (it was an E-grade Hollywood film),” the actor tweeted at the time.
