The Punjab government has lifted market timing restrictions.

Imran Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Punjab Chief Minister Ch Parvez Elahi announced massive measures to help the province’s businesses on Wednesday. At the CM secretariat here, the chief minister met with leaders of the Punjab traders community.

Addressing the traders, Parvez Elahi announced the lifting of the prohibition on business timings in Punjab, adding that all business centres, markets, and stores will be open on Sunday throughout the province. He stated that the Sunday holiday for business centres, marketplaces, and stores was no longer in effect.

He also revealed that the 9 p.m. commercial closing time for business centres, markets, and stores had been lifted. He committed to resolve parking issues in order to relieve the merchants’ community and claimed that he was well aware of their concerns.

The CM declared that the PML-N had spread widespread misinformation that things will change with the arrival of Shehbaz Sharif’s government. He said that nothing had changed, but that the Shehbaz Sharif government had imposed massive price increases as well as a hefty burden on traders.

The CM claimed that the PML-N supported and patronised the parking mafia and vowed to eliminate it,He stated that 30% of the parking revenue will be used to provide services to the traders. The CM announced the establishment of Rescue 1122 centres in the markets. He stated that a committee led by Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal and trader leader Nasir Salman had been formed to address the problems of the traders’ community.

“We subscribe to the concept of “Prosperous Trader and Punjab,” he said, quoting PTI Chairman Imran Khan. Meanwhile, PTI Secretary General Asad Omer has hailed Ch Parvez Elahi, saying that during his previous time as chief minister, he accomplished a lot of commendable work and was widely appreciated across Pakistan for his commendable performance.

He stated that the traders community had had difficulties in recent years owing to Corona sickness and other issues, and that it was our responsibility to tackle the traders’ problems. Chairman PTI’s point of contact for traders “We plan to present the idea of “Downtown” and Kiosk in markets as in poor nations,” Nasir Salman stated.

He went on to say that the markets of all cities, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and Gujranwala, must be brought up to par with the rest of the world so that buyers may be convinced to shop and shopkeepers and traders can be accommodated.

He stated that the PTI was working to alleviate poverty through trade promotion. He committed to address the traders’ issues first and foremost.
