WhatsApp now allows you to listen to voice memos outside of conversations.

WaBetaInfo reported that WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, has added a new feature to the Windows app that allows users to listen to voice communications outside of chats.

According to an app-tracking website, the new update is being distributed via the official beta channel on the Microsoft Store search page.

The newly-introduced feature “play messages outside of chats” is currently accessible to a subset of beta users. However, more users will have access to this feature in the future days.

Users will be able to listen to voice messages even if they switch to a different conversation thanks to this update.

Users will be able to perform multiple operations simultaneously while listening to a voice transmission, making this a crucial feature. This would also save them time if a vocal note is lengthy and users continue to send messages across multiple conversations.

“Although this feature first appeared in the beta version, we cannot rule out the possibility that it was also made available to some users on the stable version of the application,” WaBetaInfo stated.

Non-beta users can determine if this update is available by listening to a voice message and simultaneously launching a different chat.
