Imam-ul-Haq completes 1,000 runs in Pakistan-England match

Opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq reached a new career high on Friday, scoring his 1,000th run in Test cricket during Pakistan’s opening innings of the ongoing series against England.

As he competed in his 17th Test match, Imam became a cricket legend. Imam made a shot to achieve 1,000 runs before being bowled by Will Jacks in the 18th over.

The left-hander has played in two Twenty20 Internationals and two 50-over matches for Pakistan, scoring two hundreds and four fifties in the longer format.

During the earlier Pakistan vs. England match, England batted to a respectable end of innings score of 657. The prolonged two and a half hour period resulted in 151 additional runs for the squad, bringing their total to 506-4 when play resumed.

When playing Pakistan, four of England’s top five batsmen scored hundreds in record time.

With England in scintillating form on their first test visit of Pakistan since 2005, the first day of a test match saw 500 runs scored for the first time ever.

Pacer Naseem Shah, who finished with 3-140, dismissed the team’s captain, Ben Stokes (41), Liam Livingstone (9), and Brook.

Zahid Mahmood, a leg-spinner, took four wickets but gave up 235 runs in his Test debut, the most by any bowler.

In 2010, Sri Lankan off-spinner Suraj Randiv gave up 222 runs when his team played India in Colombo.

This score surpasses England’s 589-9 in Manchester in 2016, which was their previous highest against Pakistan in Tests.

Overturning Australia’s 112-year-old record of 494-6 against South Africa in Sydney, England scored 500 runs on the first day of a Test match on Thursday.

In addition to Ben Duckett (107), Zak Crawley (122), and Ollie Pope (108), there were three other batsmen who scored hundreds.

There will be three Test matches played in Pakistan, the first time England has visited the country in 17 years.
