Across the country, Youm-e-Ashur processions conclude peacefully.

Today, across the country, oum-e-Ashur was commemorated with profound reverence and solemnity to pay homage to the supreme sacrifice made by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his faithful companions in Karbala (Iraq).

Muharram is the month of mourning for Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the grandson of the final Prophet Hazrat Muhammad, who was martyred in the seventh century (SAW).

Mourning processions were held in all cities and towns across the country as Muslims observed Ashura with mourning rites.

Along the procession routes, law enforcement officers such as police, Rangers, FC, and others were stationed. Meanwhile, mobile phone services were temporarily blocked in some cities as a security precaution.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah declared that no untoward incidents were recorded from anywhere in the country during the Muharram parade.

He revealed that from Muharram 1st to Muharram 9th, almost 6,000 Majalis were confined under the tight surveillance of 6,150 rangers personnel.
