Adnan Siddiqui, Faysal Qureshi, and others are sad over the death of Zia Mohyeddin.

When everyone in Pakistan woke up this morning, they were shocked to hear that the famous writer Zia Mohyeddin had died.

After the death of the great poet and writer Amjad Islam Amjad on February 10, the death of Zia marks the end of an era. The sad news shook the whole country. Many famous people from the entertainment industry came forward to express their sadness over the veteran’s death.

Adnan Siddiqui, an actor, sent his condolences on Twitter. He wrote, “The arts world is saying goodbye to a master: Zia Mohyeddin, a legend in broadcasting, a poetic virtuoso, an actor, and a theatre director. As we celebrate his life and legacy and mourn his death, we are reminded of how much he changed our culture.

Faysal Qureshi shared a picture of him with Zia and wrote, “It’s an honour that my daughter got to meet and get to know him just like I did. The young people of today can learn a lot from people like him. His voice will be heard all over the world of writing. Today is a sad day because we lost something important to our country. A story that everyone will always remember and love.”

On the other hand, activist Muniba Mazari also felt sad about his death, calling it the “End of an Era.”

Yasir Hussain, Dawar Mehmood, and Hamza Tariq Jamil, among other well-known people, also felt sad about his death.

Later today, famous actress Mahira Khan also spoke out about how sad she was about Zia’s death. She sent a thank-you note with an old clip of his recital.

Zia Mohyeddin has done a lot to improve the Pakistani theatre scene. With his work, he changed everything about art and theatre in Pakistan in a way that no one else could have done. When he told a story or read poetry, he had a voice that can’t be replaced. Today, Pakistan really lost a voice.
