Argentina beats Netherlands, to go to the semi finals.

Argentina, whose world cup quarter final against the Netherlands ended at 2-2 after extra time, defeated the Netherlands 4-3 on penalties to go to the semi final against Croatia. It took a while for the game to start. However, in the 35th minutes, Nahuel Molina in the box received an inch perfect pass from Lionel Messi, and made no mistake about putting the ball in the goal. The game dragged on until the referee pointed to the spot after a foul close inside the dutch penality area in the 72nd minute, at which point Argentina record breaking number 10 again stood forward. Andries Noppert, the goalkeeper for the Netherlands, was powerless to stop Messi effort from doubling Argentina advantage.
The Netherlands first shot on goal was made by Wout weghorst in the 83rd minute, five minutes after entering the field. Memphis Depay sent the ball in to the side netting two minutes later. A half hour of extra time saw no breakthroughs. The dutch failed to score their first two penalties in the shootout, while Argentina were flawless untill they missed their fourth. Lautaro Martinez scored their final spot kick and kept Argentina’s world cup dreams alive.
