Details inside on how the agreement between Aamir Khan and Netflix for Laal Singh Chaddha fails horribly.
Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan, was supposed to make a big splash at the box office, but sadly, it bombed, and Netflix decided not to purchase the digital rights.
The movie only made INR 37.95 crore during the weekend, and the streaming behemoth also declined the offer to buy the film’s digital rights.
Due to his unwavering conviction in the movie, Aamir began the discussions with INR 150 Cr. However, as the movie began to bomb at the box office, he reduced the numbers.
Netflix reportedly made every effort to persuade Aamir to compromise and shorten the distance between the theatrical and OTT releases. This was according to a source for Bollywood Hungama.”
They were prepared to make an offer of between 80 and 90 crores. However, the actor was adamant about the cost and the schedule since he also wanted to see the movie released in China. Finally, Netflix made a 50 crore INR offer.
However, as soon as the movie started to bomb, Netflix withdrew. Aamir will release the movie on Voot as a formality because the other OTT outlets are likewise no longer interested in purchasing the rights.
