Doctor Strange revealed that bringing emotion to Marvel films is “difficult.”

Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Doctor Strange, has said it’s difficult to inject feelings into the MCU.

The actor explained his preparation for his role in the MCU films during an interview with The Talks. It’s not like going to an acting class, where you constantly have to shed your facade in order to reveal your true self.

In the midst of creating a massive film like “The Avengers,” for instance, it can be difficult to get that one emotional moment absolutely nailed in five minutes because that’s all the time they have because of the other, bigger things around it. “You are working to do some of that,” she said.

Cumberbatch elaborated, saying, “In this instance, it’s not a massive development of the character; it’s about how to service the story while simultaneously balancing the integrity of a now much-loved part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.” So, I gain experience with each new job I take. I’d like to think I’m a student of life. I pick up knowledge by observing others. Amazing to see Robert [Downey Jr.] in action. It’s great to see him perform, and it’s even better to see someone who knows their instrument inside and out.

The title of Benedict Cumberbatch’s latest Doctor Strange film, released in 2016, was Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
