Experts predict severe rainfall in Karachi from August 11 to 14.
The fourth monsoon wave is anticipated to bring severe to extremely heavy rainfall to Karachi from August 11 to 14, according to famous weather analyst Jawad Memon on Wednesday.
He emphasised that the low-pressure system that has penetrated the country’s central and southern regions has strengthened into a depression and is expected to produce torrential rainfall in the port city over the projected period.
According to Jawad Memon, the rain-bearing storm is going towards Sindh. “Another low-pressure system is reigning above Gujrat, and a link between the two systems is being developed,” he added.
Furthermore, the weather forecaster stated that moderate to severe rains are likely in several sections of the port city on Wednesday (today)
The Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) stated in its daily weather forecast, “Monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal are penetrating in central and southern regions of the country and are predicted to become stronger from tonight.”
According to the Met Office, a westerly wave is also prevalent in the upper and lower sections of the country.
The PMD predicts rain-wind/thunderstorms in Sindh, northeast/south Balochistan, northeast/south Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir today.
Heavy rain is expected in isolated areas of lower Sindh and South Balochistan throughout the forecast period, according to the Met Office.
