IBO: ISPR Three attackers have been killed in Bajaur

The military’s media wing said Wednesday that three terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Bajur area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the militants were killed on April 11 during a fierce battle between them and the security forces. After the battle, guns and ammunition were also found.

The statement said, “…the militants remained actively involved in a number of terrorist activities against security forces, as well as extortion and targeted killings of innocent citizens.”

The ISPR said that people in the area liked the operation and gave their full backing to security forces who were determined to get rid of the threat of terrorism in the area.

The new IBO comes at a time when security forces have stepped up their operations against terrorists. This is because there have been more terror attacks across the country, which have killed civilians and law enforcement officers.

The National Security Committee (NSC) agreed last week to start an all-out, all-encompassing operation against militant groups to get rid of the threat of terrorism in the country.

The recent wave of terrorism, according to the committee, was caused by a “soft corner for and reckless policy” with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which was the exact opposite of what the people wanted and expected.

In an IBO from April 11, security forces also said that they had killed three terrorists in the Bannu area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The ISPR said that the three terrorists had attacked security troops and killed civilians.
