Imran Khan condemns the arrest of Shahbaz Gill’s assistant’s wife.
Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan strongly criticised the arrest of a private TV channel’s director of news and the wife of Shahbaz Gill’s assistant on Thursday.
The former prime minister turned to Twitter to express his outrage at the police arrests, calling them fascist illegal abductions and asking the legal community if there were any “basic rights” left.
He claimed that the police raided the home of Shahbaz Gill’s assistant the day after the PTI leader was arrested and that the arrest was ‘legitimate.’
“The “imported administration of thieves” is employing fear and terror against the media and the people in order to “get acceptance after being routed in Punjab,” the former Prime Minister stated on Twitter.
Imran Khan went on to say that such activities “further destabilise [the] country” and that the only solution to Pakistan’s problems is “fair and free elections.”
