After April, which was full of amazing things to see in the sky, this month is also full of amazing things to see in the sky.

In May, there are several important science events that you should not miss.

Meteor shower of the Eta Aquarids
People think that the meteor showers that will happen between May 5 and 6 are more likely to be caused by the comet Halley.

Nasa says that Eta Aquarids usually causes about 60 meteors per hour, but that most of the debris won’t be visible because of the full moon.

To see this mesmerizing view, you need a clear sky and to be away from a place with too much light.

The Halley comet is thought to be at least 16,000 years old, and in October, it will cause the Oionids meteor shower.

Nasa said that the Eta Aquarids meteor shower will be at its best on May 4 and 5.

Blooming moon
The full moon will be on the other side of North America when it is at its brightest. The best time to see the full flower moon is on the evening of May 5.

Farmers’ Almanac says that the moon got its name because Native Americans noticed that there were a lot of flowers in the late spring.

It is also called planting milk moon corn.

There will also be a penumbral moon eclipse, but people in North America won’t be able to see it.

In March 2024, North America will be able to see the next penumbral moon eclipse.

Mercury Can Be Seen
On May 29, Mercury will be close enough to the sun that it can be seen from Earth.

It’s also called “Western Elongation,” and it’s one of the three times Mercury gets to this stage.

Those planets that are closer to the sun than Earth hit the stage of greatest western elongation or greatest eastern elongation.
