Media reported quoting official sources that at least 250 Israelis were dead and more than 1,000 wounded in surprise attack at more than 20 locations inside Israel. In retaliatory air strikes by Israel more than 230 people killed and 1,600 wounded in Gaza. It is in one of the most serious escalations in the Israel-Palestinian conflict in years.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the Pentagon would work to ensure Israel “has everything it needs to defend itself”.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia holds Israel responsible for what happened due to its repeated provocations and deprivation of rights of Palestinians. Some reports says Saudi Arabia has asked both sides to deescalate.
According to unconfirmed information, Egypt warned Israel not to invade the Gaza Strip.
