PSX rises by 59 points.


KARACHI – The Pakistan Stock Exchange’s (PSX) 100-index increased by 59.13 points on Thursday, or 0.13 percent, to close at 45,650.06 points as opposed to 45,590.93 points the previous trading day. The total number of shares traded throughout the day was 45,590.93, valued at Rs 2.77 billion, down from 102,767,509 shares valued at Rs 3.80 billion on the previous trading day. In the 316 firms that traded shares on the stock market, 148 recorded gains, 138 sustained losses, and 30 had their share prices remain steady. K-Electric Ltd., with 18,078,085 shares at Rs 1.90 per share, Al-Shaheer Corp., with 18,007,987 shares at Rs 11.32 per share, and SEARLR2 with 16,376,256 shares at Rs 1.60 per share, were the top three trading companies. In contrast to Pak Services, which rose by 20 cents per share to 67 cents, Premium Tex had a maximum increase of 26 cents per share, closing at 378.10.
