Sonam Kapoor is “honored” to perform a spoken-word piece at the coronation show for King Charles III.
Sonam Kapoor, a Bollywood star, will do a spoken word piece at the May 7 coronation show for King Charles III at Windsor Castle.
According to Independent, the Khoobsurat actor will be joining Katy Perry and Lionel Richie at the special event.
It is said that the Aisha actor will not only give her speech but also introduce Steve Winwood and the Commonwealth virtual choir.
The news source said that Hugh Bonneville will host the event and that BBC Studios will make it.
In a statement to the media, the Neerja actress said, “I am honored to join the Commonwealth virtual choir for this ceremony honoring His Majesty’s love of music and art.”
Kapoor called it “a momentous event” and said, “The event shows a commitment to a positive, inclusive, and hopeful future for the UK.”
She added, “And the Choir’s music honors the royal legacy and spreads unity, peace, and joy.”
The actual coronation of King Charles III will take place on May 6, and the concert will be held the next day.
