Suki Kinari project gets dam capping

ISLAMABAD: This week, the dam cap was put on the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project in the northwestern part of Pakistan. This means that the project is now in a new stage of building.

If the concrete dam on the Kunhar River is capped successfully, it will help speed up the building of a power station in the Mansehra area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, which is part of the CPEC.

Chen Jiangbo, Deputy Manager of Suki Kinari Hydropower Project of China Gezhouba Group Company Ltd, which invests in and runs the project, said that the capping was an important step in the 884-megawatt hydropower project. He said that Chinese and Pakistani builders worked together despite many challenges to reach this goal.
