Taylor Swift takes home the top prize at the MTV Video Music Awards

LOS ANGELES: Pop icon Taylor Swift won Video of the Year and other accolades for her smash song Anti-Hero on Tuesday, taking home the top title at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Anti-Hero, Swift’s debut single off her Midnights album, is a story about insecurity with the lyric “It’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me.” The performer put up her Moon Person statuette on stage and exclaimed, “This is unbelievable. “It means so much to me that this award was chosen by the fans.”
The 1990s boy band NSYNC, who won the same prize 20 years prior, presented the pop video award to the 33-year-old earlier, and he or she looked happy to be getting it. I owned your dolls. Rapper Sean Diddy Combs, who earned the Global Icon award, as well as Demi Lovato, Lil Wayne, Olivia Rodrigo, and host Nicki Minaj all performed at the presentation at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey. Minaj, who took home the award for best hip-hop video, also performed with Grandmaster Flash, LL Cool J, and other legendary rap artists during a multi-song celebration of hip-hop’s 50th birthday, which ended with Run DMC’s Walk This Way.
Shakira, a Colombian pop singer, received the Video Vanguard Award for lifetime accomplishment. The singer thanked her audience after playing a bilingual medley of her hits, including Hips Don’t Lie and Whenever, Wherever. She thanked everyone for being her army and supporting her in all of her struggles.
