Turkiye gives the top award for earthquake aid to a Pakistani charity
A charity in Pakistan called the Alkhidmat Foundation was given an award by Turkiye on Wednesday for helping with the country’s biggest rescue, relief, and recovery operation after a huge earthquake that killed more than 50,000 people in the Eurasian republic and neighboring Syria. This was said in an official statement.

In honor of the charity’s important work, President Recep Tayyip Erdoan gave it the prestigious “Supreme Sacrifice of the Republic of Turkiye” award.
When the disaster hit the country on February 6, this year, the Alkhidmat Foundation jumped into action and helped many people.
The statement says that the search and rescue team, which had 47 hardworking members and was led by Ikramul Haq Subhani, worked nonstop for 10 days after the earthquake.

The team, which was called “Pak 10,” worked with foreign partners and used high-tech tools to find survivors and pull people from the rubble, the statement said.
It said that President Erdogan thanked the Alkhidmat Foundation and the people of Pakistan from the bottom of his heart for their steadfast support during this hard time.
In response to what the president said, Subhani stressed “the deep bond between Pakistan and Turkey, a bond that drives both countries to help each other when they need it.”

Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan’s president, Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, congratulated the organization’s volunteers on winning the prestigious award and said, “This award is a source of pride for the whole nation.”
In addition to doing search and rescue work, the Alkhidmat Foundation helped earthquake victims by giving them food, tents, blankets, clothes, hygiene kits, and tarpaulin.
“The charity’s tireless work has won the hearts of the Turkish people and strengthened the strong ties between the two countries,” said the statement.
