Cricket Australia’s CEO, Nick Hockley, shared his thoughts on fostering cricket relations between India and Pakistan during the Pak India Fans event at the MCG.

“We highly value our partnerships with all member states. We eagerly anticipate hosting Pakistan once again,” stated Nick Hockley.

He further expressed excitement about hosting India, stating, “We are equally thrilled about welcoming India.”

Hockley emphasized Cricket Australia’s willingness to contribute to India-Pakistan cricket initiatives, highlighting the potential for reciprocal series. He mentioned that while the logistics for an interactive series are managed by others, Cricket Australia is ready to assist in any capacity.

“We would be delighted to facilitate an India-Pakistan series if the opportunity arises,” affirmed Nick Hockley.

Despite the enthusiasm for such matches, Hockley acknowledged the challenges in scheduling, noting the packed calendar. He mentioned the anticipation surrounding the Pakistan-India match in New York but indicated that such matches might not be feasible in the upcoming season due to scheduling complexities.

Regarding upcoming events, Pakistan is scheduled to tour Australia for a white-ball series in November, featuring three ODIs and three T20Is across six venues. This series marks the beginning of Australia’s white-ball schedule for the 2024-25 summer season.

Pakistan’s return to Australia follows an 11-month gap since their participation in the Benaud-Qadir Trophy, which included three Test matches in December 2023-January 2024 across Perth, Sydney, and Melbourne.

The ODI series between Pakistan and Australia will commence on 4 November at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, followed by matches in Adelaide and Perth on 8 and 10 November, respectively. Pakistan’s last ODI series in Australia was in 2016, where the home side emerged victorious.
