Harbhajan Singh recalls the gifts that ‘Lala’ used to bring him.

Former Indian all-rounder Harbhajan Singh revealed that he was friends with many members of the Pakistan squad, including Shahid Afridi aka “Lala.”

In a video statement, Singh said, “Lala would bring me gifts, particularly Punjabi dramas and Peshawari jutti [chappals].”

He revealed that one of his first Pakistani friends was Saqlain Mushtaq.

Singh stated that during his off-field interactions with players, they used to talk about bowling.

“I had a friend named Saqlain Mushtaq. I used to talk about cricket with him. I met his entire team after befriending him.”

“I remember the 1999 Test against Pakistan in Delhi where Anil bhai took 10 wickets,” Harbhajan said, recalling the historic Pakistan-India Test series. I was also taking part in that game.”
