Multan Sultans beat Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL 2023.

In the fifth match of the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which took place on Friday, Multan Sultans beat Peshawar Zalmi by 56 runs to win.

In the middle overs, Multan Sultans were able to come back thanks to Usama Mir’s singing.

Saim Ayub was in charge of the team when Usama came in. He caused a lot of damage by hitting perfect lengths and getting quick wickets in the middle overs, which put Zalmi on the back foot.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore was the first person Usama got in the 11th over. In the 15th over, he got two more wickets right after each other. Cadmore (3) misjudged the distance and threw an easy catch.

Usama got rid of Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Saim in the 15th over, which let Sultans back into the game.

Zalmi had to try to score a huge 211 runs, but Saim and Mohammad Haris saved them. Then, captain Babar Azam was out after scoring only nine runs. Between the two of them, they scored 47 runs.

After Haris was run out, Zalmi’s innings was stabilised by Saim’s first fifty. He started his innings with a solid cover drive. Haris was out after getting 40 runs off 23 balls, which included a boundary and four sixes. Saim was out after he was bowled for 53 runs off 37 balls. He hit three fours and as many sixes.

Ihsanullah got three wickets after Saim hit him for some boundaries. In the last game, he got five wickets.

Abbas Afridi took two wickets as well, and Carlos Brathwaite got one.

Before, Sultans gave Zalmi a goal of 211 runs after captain Mohammad Rizwan and middle-order batsman Rilee Rossouw both hit 50.

In the 20 overs they were given, Sultans scored 210-3.

Rossouw scored 75 runs quickly, in just 36 balls, by hitting 12 fours and two huge sixes.

Rizwan, who came out to bat first, got 66 runs in 42 balls. The right-hander hit nine fours and a six with his bat.

Salman Irshad, a fast bowler for Zalmi, was the best of their bowlers. He took two wickets and 38 runs in four overs.

In the fifth match of PSL 8, Zalmi won the coin toss and chose to bowl first.

With four points from three games, the Sultans still lead the points table after this win.

Multan’s first game was against Lahore Qalandars, and they lost. In their second game, though, they beat Quetta Gladiators.

Zalmi, on the other hand, lost after beating Karachi Kings to start the tournament on a good note.
