PCB announces commentators and presenters for PSL 8

Tuesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the names of the 15 commentators and two hosts for season eight of the 34-game Pakistan Super League (PSL), which starts on February 13.

A press release from the cricket board says that the series will be covered by a “strong field” of 15 commentators and two presenters.

The panel was announced on Twitter by the PSL’s official account, which said, “Our star-studded commentary panel for #HBLPSL8 is here!”

Alan Wilkins, Bazid Khan, Danny Morrison, Daren Ganga, Dominic Cork, Mark Butcher, Nick Knight, Sana Mir, Sikandar Bakht, Simon Doull, Urooj Mumtaz, Vernon Philander, and Waqar Younis are just some of the English commentators on the list. On the other hand, Marina Iqbal and Tariq Saeed will comment in Urdu.

In the PCB press release, it was also said that fan favourites Erin Holland and Zainab Abbas will be hosting the series.

From February 13 to March 19, PSL 8 games will be held in four places. From February 13 to 26, 20 matches will be played in Multan and Karachi. From February 26 to March 19, 20 more matches will be played in Lahore and Rawalpindi.

On February 13, Multan will host the opening ceremony for PSL 8, which will be followed by the first game between the defending champion Lahore Qalandars and the 2021 champion Multan Sultans.

On the other hand, the final and closing ceremony will be held on March 19 in Lahore, which is also where the play-offs will be held.

This year’s PSL will be twice as exciting because Lahore Qalandars will try to become the first team to win back-to-back titles, and Islamabad United will try to become the most successful team by lifting the trophy three times.

It is important to note that Rawalpindi will host 11 games, Karachi and Lahore will each host nine games, and Multan will host five games.
