Sania Mirza invites fans to her game for one last chance to see where it all began.

Sania Mirza is getting ready for her last competitive tennis match, which will be the end of an amazing career that has lasted almost 20 years.

The six-time grand slam winner and wife of former Pakistan cricket team captain Shoaib Malik played her last professional match on Tuesday, February 21, at the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships. She and Madison Keys lost to Veronika Kudermetova and Liudmila Samsonova in doubles, 6-4, 6-0.

The 36-year-old Indian star said earlier this year that she was giving up her career. But Mirza, who was right-handed, wanted her amazing journey to end on a special note.

“I have some really good news for you. On March 5, I will play my last tennis match at the L.B. Stadium, where it all began for me 18 to 20 years ago “she wrote in a video message on her Instagram account.

The tennis player said that all of her closest friends, peers, and partners will be there. She tried to hold back her tears as she said, “I can’t wait to play this match in front of all of you for the last time as a competitive tennis player.”

“I hope to end this journey on a beautiful note in front of my friends and family, but most of all in front of my most loyal fans and followers who have been with me through everything,” Mirza said.
