There is a fancy hotel for cats in Paris.

If the reservation book at one Paris cat hotel is any indication, Parisians have eagerly taken up travelling again, much as they appreciated their cats’ company during the two years of coronavirus lockdown.

All 24 of the “modern and cosy” cubicles at the Arbre a Chats (Cats’ Tree) hotel are already filled, so potential guests must make reservations far in advance. Cats that are close friends, however, can double up and share a room.

Veronica Colson, owner of the hotel, said, “Unlike last year, this year we were fully booked for August from the end of February. The hotel is bustling as cat owners rediscover the joy of vacation, with cats lounging on couches, perched high in the wooden climbing structure styled like a tree in the centre, or watching street life from a ledge near the window.

“We required a cat motel where we could be certain he would receive his medication and care. Here, everything will go off without a hitch “As she dropped off Monte Christo before one of her usual outings, Anne-Marie Grataloup commented.

The hotel offers “a la carte” services including massages, brushing, and a pick-up service for visitors in typical Parisian fashion. In addition, the hotel staff updates the owners twice a week with a photo and a statement regarding Whiskers’ diet and interactions with other guests. It’s similar to when your children go summer camp; you want to know how they are doing, don’t you? Colson declared.
