Commonwealth Games 2022: Rs5m cash reward for gold medalist Nooh Dastagir announced

Weightlifter Nooh Dastagir Butt won Pakistan’s first gold medal at the current Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) announced on Thursday that he will get a financial incentive of Rs. 5 million.
Butt lifted a total of 405 kilogrammes, including 173 kilogrammes in the snatch and 232 kilogrammes in the clean and jerk, to win Pakistan’s first gold medal at the CWG 2022 in Birmingham. A CWG record, in fact. Judoka Shah Hussain received a Rs. 1 million announcement.

The PSB also announced that Judoka Shah Hussain will get Rs. 1 million in honour of his outstanding achievement at the international competition. According to PSB rules, a gold medal winner would receive Rs50 million, a silver winner Rs20 million, and a bronze winner Rs1 respectively.
